 The Foreign Languages Cultural Festival is an event where all of the students of SZFLS learn to appreciate and understand the various cultures and nations all around the world. The Cultural Festival is a week long extravaganza where students and teachers work together in order to create a multi-cultural atmosphere through several different events that each showcase different attributes of diverse cultures. During the week of the Cultural Festival, students can experience foreign cuisine, clothing, performances, artwork, knowledge, and culture. The entire event is a rich experience geared towards exposing students to the vast multi-cultured nature of the world. The Foreign Languages Cultural Festival is made up of several exciting aspects, including each classroom being changed into a representation of a different country, an outdoor flea market, and an extensive gala filled with various cultural performances from all over the world.
In order for students to deeply experience and learn about the different cultures of the world, each class in the school chooses a different nation to represent and does research in every aspect of that culture. After learning in depth about the culture, each class turns their classroom into a mini representation of the culture, with posters, designs, cultural relics, cuisine, drinks, trivia, performances, and cultural attire. Students are allowed an opportunity to travel to each of the classrooms and learn and experience about the different cultures of the world through a truly rich and immersive experience. The Flea Market is an event where each of the classes creates different booths and sell second hand items in a bazaar-styled atmosphere, with all proceeds going to charity. The Gala at the conclusion of the Foreign Cultures Festival is a finale with performances in various languages and in the styles of various cultures. Students learn about the cultures they perform and teach all the other students at the school about the culture they perform as well. All in all, the Foreign Cultures Festival is a rich experience that provides students with a rare look of the world outside China, and provides them with real tangible experience with the various nations of the world.

| The Arts Festival is a week-long event celebrating the many various forms of art from around the world. Included in the Arts Festival are Chinese calligraphy workshops and gallery, a photo exhibition, drawing workshops, singing competitions, instrumental performances, dancing events, and various forms of stage performances. The festival is dedicated to promoting the arts while sparking and harnessing students' interest to the rich world of art. Students are encouraged to take part in the Festival and to become involved with performances, competitions, and workshops. Students that choose not to attend workshops still gain large amounts of exposure to the arts by observing performances from other students whom choose to perform on stage. The Arts Festival is a fun and educational experience where students gain first-hand exposure to many forms of diverse art that they would typically never have a chance to appreciate. |
