Shenzhen Foreign Languages School Longgang Branch teaches and develops over 800 middle school students each year. These students work hard to improve themselves and grow, both academically and in character. Besides academic activities, the students are also taught to be kind hearted and to care about others in order to develop their character and personality. The students at Longgang Branch are divided into three separate grades: Junior 1, Junior 2, and Junior 3. Each of the three grades are further separated into eight separate classes depending on academic ability, and these students in each class share all their classes together. Students whom are strong academically are placed together and are able to advance their studies quickly and push each other to gain even higher test scores. Students whom need special help or instruction in various subjects are also placed in the same class so that they can have the special attention they need in order to catch up and sometimes even surpass other students whom initially scored higher on exams.

Students are encouraged to excel in many areas, both in the academic and non-academic realms. Students spend several hours each day in academic classes and special study sessions in order to supplement their class work. In addition, students are encouraged to participate in the arts, such as through painting, drawing, singing, acting, dancing, or playing a musical instrument. Longgang Branch has several top-class facilities dedicated to teaching the various arts, including studios, dance halls, a large theatre, and music practice rooms. In addition to the arts, students are also encouraged to stay healthy and active through the practice of sports through the many sports facilities available to students during free time or through the organized sports competitions that take place throughout the school year.
